One of the best elements of Vancouver is its multicultural makeup of all different colours. Of course, Asians make up a significant population of Greater Vancouver. A way you can celebrate our city’s diversity is to participate in the 15th Annual explorASIAN Festival which will run May 1st to 31st including 9 signature events in addition to various partnered programs. Many of them are free and open to the public! The first signature event is Beat the Street: Asian Drum Festival + Remix which takes place on May 1 at CBC Vancouver. This public half-day event will launch the 15th explorASIAN festival, featuring percussionists from different heritages demonstrating richness in diversity and harmony in unity. The event will premiere a theme song for the occasion, composed and conducted by renowned musician Vince Mai.
To honour Asian heritage in an interactive way, the Vancouver Asian Heritage Month Society will be doing a series of gift certificate contests to various restaurants in the city! Here’s your chance to win a $50 gift certificate to Hapa Izakaya.
