15 Spring Break activities for kids in Vancouver

Wondering how to keep your little monsters busy during Spring Break? Here’s some ideas to keep them occupied – and keep you sane – from March 14 to 27.

Science World Spring Lab

  • What: Science it up at Spring Lab, Science World’s annual Spring Break event for kids of all ages. This year, the exhibition explores the mysterious world of puzzles and illusions.
  • Where: Science World – 1455 Quebec Street, Vancouver
  • When: March 12–28

CSI Kids Camp

  • What: Calling all budding crime scene investigators! At these one or three-day camps, kids aged 7-13 years old can try their hand at crime solving and forensic investigation.
  • Where: Vancouver Police Museum – 240 East Cordova Street, Vancouver
  • When: March 16-18, March 22-24

Go, Dog. Go!

  • What: The classic children’s book brought to the stage. See these lovable dogs go snorkelling, howl at the moon and ride a ferris wheel. For kids aged three to eight.
  • Where: Waterfront Theatre – 1412 Cartwright Street, Vancouver
  • When: Until March 20

UBC Spring Camps

  • What: A huge range of adventure, arts and sports Spring Break camps for kids and teens, offering everything from lazer tag, glee club, and even babysitters’ training.
  • Where: Various locations around UBC and Vancouver
  • When: March 14-27

Mini Kidz Zone

  • What: An activity gym for toddlers and kids up to 12 years old – includes a bouncy castle, 18 foot wave slide and pedal cars.
  • Where: King George Secondary School – 1755 Barclay Street, Vancouver

Dance Co Classes

  • What: A range of ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, acro, musical theatre, contemporary/lyrical and improvisation classes for kids aged five and up, and teens.

Art Gallery MashUp

  • What: Sketching sessions, art hunts and guided hands-on masterpiece making at Vancouver Art Gallery’s Weekly Family Programs MashUp.

Circus West Camp

  • What: Over five days, kids aged 7-14 years old learn unicycle, juggling, trapeze, trampoline, acrobatics – then show off their new tricks in a show for friends and family.

VPL Spring Break Series

  • What: An enormous selection of activities for school age kids at Vancouver Public Library, including film screenings, Lego block parties and spooky storytelling.

Family Pi Day

  • What: A celebration of math, pi, and pie on the special day of your favourite math constant: 3.14. Includes pied pipers, pi parades, and of course lots of delicious pie!
  • Where: HR MacMillan Space Centre – 1100 Chestnut Street, Vancouver
  • When: March 14

YMCA Spring Camps

  • What: A range of day camps for junior explorers aged five to 12, full of physical activities, arts, crafts, games and sports. A leadership camp for teens is also available.
  • Where: Various YMCA locations across Vancouver

Vancouver Giants

  • What: Take your little ones to see the Giants take on the Kelowna Rockets on Fan Appreciation Night. It’s also Unused Season Ticket Night, so you can spread the hockey love.

Beaty Biodiversity Workshops

  • What: Become a biodiversity pro with a different family activity every day. Try your hand at building bat boxes, imagine life in an insect colony or just have fun poking ponds.

Granville Island Kids Market

  • What: Free craftmaking using recycled materials, sponsored by Urban Source, sand art sessions in the party room, and balloon twisting with Jack and Rusty.

Spring AquaCamps

  • What: Week-long camps at Vancouver Aquarium for kids aged four to 12, where your mini marine biologists can learn about exotic animals, life cycles and ecosystems.
