Hacked electronic road sign displayed profanity to drivers in Ontario town

It wasn’t the average welcoming road sign in Aurora, Ontario, on Monday morning.

An electronic signboard on the city’s road greeted drivers with the message, “F*ck them all,” for at least 20 minutes, according to local reports.

The sign was located southbound on Bayview Avenue heading towards St. John’s Sideroad, and had initially had a message regarding St. John’s Sideroad.

York Region reported that the Regional Municipality of York apologized for the incident, saying the signs were remotely hacked overnight.

Staff have since disabled the connection and all signs were turned off as the City continues to investigate.
