It might be PSL season in Toronto, but as much as we love seasonal hot drinks, sometimes those double shots of espresso and saccharine syrups can be just too strong and too sweet.

Impact Kitchen has just introduced a new way to satisfy cravings for warm bevies that also offer benefits that are welcome in time for the onset of flu season.

Each priced at $5.50, the menu of Wellness Lattes advertises three choices including the Golden Turmeric Latte packed with the strong, bright yellow anti-oxidant prized for its anti-inflammatory effects, as well as ginger extract, maple black pepper syrup and almond milk.

The Pumpkin Spice Dandy Blend Latte starts with the herbal coffee substitute, Dandy Blend sweetened with maple syrup, pumpkin spice and finished with frothy almond milk.

Finally, the Chaga Hot Chocolate Latte boasts a blend of immune-boosting fungus, vanilla extract, raw cacao, maple syrup and almond milk.

Taste-wise, the hot chocolate and pumpkin spice lattes deliver on the promised flavour profiles. In the instance of the hot chocolate, the chaga isn’t even detectable.

The turmeric-infused drink is perhaps the most unique, though the savoury herb is pleasingly mellowed by creamy, frothy almond milk.
