After being fired, re-instated, and a long battle with the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 113, Bob Kinnear has resigned.
Initially, Kinnear, the president of local 113, and 17 other union leaders were let go on February 3. According to the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 113’s trustee Manny Sforza, Kinnear had planned a secretive move to transfer the Local’s members to another union while he was still on the ATU’s payroll.
Kinnear sought legal action, and was reinstated by the Ontario Supreme Court on February 22, a move that was not supported by the Union, who called for his resignation.
And today, Bob Kinnear resigned, according to a statement shared by TTC’s Executive Director of Corporate Communications, Brad Ross.

None of the TTC services are affected by the Union’s actions, as per Ross’ statement.
