Nov 6 2018, 1:15 am

The TTC says it will close a portion of Line 1 early this week.

According to a release from the transit agency, Line 1 (Yonge-University) between Spadina and St Andrew Station will be closing each night at 11 pm from this Monday, November 5 to Thursday, November 8.

Service will resume by 6 am the next morning.

Shuttle buses will be running throughout these closures and stopping at all stations along the route.

“The TTC, however, encourages customers to consider using alternatives including the Yonge side of Line 1, the 510 Spadina, 511 Bathurst and other local streetcar/bus service. Wheel-Trans will provide service to customers requiring accessible connections from any station,” reads the release.

The closure is in order to continue work on implementing Automatic Train Control as well as for the state of good repair work.

Additional early weeknight closings are also planned for next spring.

Be sure to plan ahead.
