TTC closures and diversions this weekend: August 12-13

Aug 9 2017, 11:37 pm

Another summer weekend ahead, and with it comes another weekend of TTC diversions and closures.

This weekend, train testing and emergency response training for the TTC’s new Automatic Train Control (ATC) system will require Line 1 Yonge-University to close between St George and Sheppard West (formerly Downsview) stations.

Shuttle buses will run between Sheppard West and Lawrence West stations only due to on-street construction around Eglinton West, St Clair West and Dupont stations. To supplement shuttle service and move customers more efficiently to the Yonge St. side of Line 1, the TTC is doubling service on nine east-west bus and streetcar routes in the closure area.

Surface routes with extra service are:

-7 Bathurst
-14 Glencairn
-32 Eglinton West
-52 Lawrence West
-84 Sheppard West
-96 Wilson
-109 Ranee
-127 Davenport
-512 St Clair

To provide better shuttle bus service, parking will be restricted on Bathurst St. between Bloor St. and Barton Ave.

Dupont and Glencairn stations will be closed. All other stations will be open for fare sales and access to surface routes.

Regular subway service resumes Monday at 6 am. The next scheduled subway closures are:

  • Aug. 19-20 – Line 2 Bloor-Danforth: Kipling to Islington for track work.
  • Aug. 26-27 – Line 2 Bloor-Danforth: Broadview to St. George for TTC and City work.
  • Aug. 27 – Line 3: for life extension and track work

Taste of the Danforth

Some routes will divert this weekend as the city celebrates the 24th annual Taste of the Danforth festival, which will close Danforth Ave. between Broadview and Jones Aves. from Fri., Aug 11 to Sun., Aug. 13.

The 72 Pape route will operate from Donlands Station from 6 pm on Aug. 11 until 3 am on Aug. 14. and divert in both directions via Danforth Ave., Jones Ave. and Gerrard St E.
