Major TTC closure on Line 1 this weekend: October 28-29

Oct 26 2017, 7:39 pm

The TTC is expecting another closure on a portion of Line 1 this weekend.

On October 28 and 29, the transit agency will be closing Line 1 Yonge-University between St Clair and Lawrence stations as crews work to replace special track and switches south of Eglinton Station.

During this closure, shuttle buses will operate, stopping only at subway stations along the way.

Because Lawrence Station is not yet accessible, Wheel-Trans buses will operate from York Mills and St Clair stations. Those travelling southbound on Line 1 who require an elevator should exit the train at York Mills Station and speak to any TTC staff member to request Wheel-Trans service.

To provide a faster trip for TTC users and keep traffic flowing, on-street parking will be restricted on both sides of Yonge St. between Lawrence and St. Clair Aves. from 9 am to 9 pm Saturday and 11 am to 9 pm Sunday.

Regular subway service resumes Monday, October 30 at 6 am.

The next scheduled subway closures are:
Nov. 4-5 – Line 1: St George to Sheppard West for signal work.
Nov. 11-12 – Line 1: St Clair to Lawrence stations for track work.
Nov. 25-26 – Line 1: St Clair to Lawrence stations for track work.
