We love restaurants that feed our hunger, but it’s no secret Toronto’s got some gorgeous spots that are a feast for our eyes as well.
When it comes to the best of the best in terms of aesthetic, the annual list revealed by the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards is the Bible for foodies looking to see what venues are killing it in the decor and architecture department all around the globe.

Now in its tenth year, the panel of industry judges released the shortlist for the titles on June 14, and there were some exciting Toronto mentions.
Mahjong Bar has been tapped for the category of “Murals & Graffiti.” The mural at this Dundas Street West restaurant was painted by local Toronto artist Gabriella Lo and the space was designed by Grey North.
âItâs an honour to be included on this list of remarkable venues,â said Josh Leblanc, co-owner of Mahjong Bar. âWe loved working with Gaby as she painted the mural thatâs such an essential part of our environment, so itâs especially meaningful that this is the part of our space that has been recognized.â
Another Toronto spot acknowledged for design accomplishments on the 2018 shortlist included Akira Black in the “Ceiling” category.
The ceremony to announce the final winners will take place in London, England in October.
