Police release video of hit & run, looking for driver and vehicle involved (VIDEO)

Toronto police have released a shocking video of a hit & run that has left a pedestrian with serious injuries.

According to police, on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at 8:48 am, they responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Steeles Avenue East and Laureleaf Road.

They say a white sedan was travelling southbound on Laureleaf Road, and attempting to make a left turn to eastbound Steeles Avenue East. At the same time, a 61-year-old woman was attempting to cross Steeles Avenue East, from the south side to the north side in the pedestrian crossing.

As the driver tried to make the left turn, the vehicle struck the woman. Both the driver and the vehicle failed to remain at the scene after the accident.

The 61-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital.

The vehicle was last seen travelling eastbound on Steeles Avenue East, and both the driver and the vehicle involved in the collision are being sought by police.

The car is described as a white, four-door vehicle, it will have front end damage from the collision.

Police are asking all residents and business owners in the area to contact police if they have any video surveillance equipment operating in the area.
