Multi-vehicle crash in Mississauga shuts down Eastbound 401

Following a multi-vehicle crash in Mississauga, the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 at Winston Churchill Boulevard are closed.

Ontario Provincial Police say the crash took place this morning and involved three transport trucks and two cars.

According to Sgt. Kerry Schmidt, three people have gone to the hospital with minor injuries.

Schmidt says the highway is currently covered in debris and it will take some time for crews to clear the road.

One lane is currently open while clean up continues.

There is s no word yet on the cause of the collision or when the highway will fully reopen.
