Global education activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Malala Yousafzai, will be speaking in Toronto next week at a fundraising gala on girls’ access to education around the world.

Taking place at Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex on April 12, the evening will be hosted by Islamic Relief Canada and is dedicated to empowering young girls to learn and lead the movement for a more prosperous world

A courageous and outspoken education advocate since she was a little girl, Yousafzai made headlines after being the target of Taliban assassins in 2012 at the age of 15 while travelling home from school on a bus in Pakistan.

Today, Yousafzai lives with her family in Birmingham, England, and she is renowned worldwide for her courage in refusing to be silenced and continues to campaign for the rights of all children to go to school.

Whether you’ve been following her journey for years or you’re just learning about her now, this will be a powerful evening that should not be missed.

All proceeds from the event will go towards projects that fund girls’ education initiatives around the world.
