Environment Canada issues heat warning for Toronto

Aug 27 2018, 7:39 pm

We’re heading into the new week with hot and humid conditions and because of this Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the City of Toronto.

According to the weather agency, a hot and humid airmass is forecasted to affect the area today and remain in place until Wednesday.

Maximum afternoon temperatures are expected to reach 31°C degrees with humidex values around 40°C degrees.

Overnight low temperatures will be in the low twenties, providing Toronto little relief from the heat.

The risks of high heat are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.

Environment Canada advises to drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place and to never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
