There's a Halo Halo festival happening in Toronto today

Halo Halo is the sweet inspiration behind this Toronto food fest happening today at Wychwood Barns.

The national dessert of the Philippines translates literally to ‘mix-mix’ and is known to feature a wild assortment of fruits, jellies, beans, nuts, and ice cream decorating a base of shaved ice sweetened with evaporated milk.

Like the sweet treat itself, the Filipino food festival (the third of its kind held in Toronto since 2014), promises a colourful array of arts, culture, entertainment, and of course, edibles.
