The holidays are alive and well in the city, with vibrant window displays and festive Christmas trees on display throughout the city.

And now the city’s Fairmont Royal York is getting ready to kick off the holidays, with the unveiling of its iconic Christmas tree and hotel decorations.

This Friday, the hotel will host a magical day in support of Children’s Wish Foundation that will include four festive events.

The morning will begin with the reveal of 12 custom-designed holiday windows on Front Street, which will be followed by the 22nd Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in the hotel lobby.

Next, visitors have the chance to meet Santa Claus, which will be followed by the exclusive Trees of Joy event where 15 specialty Christmas Trees sponsored by local companies and businesses for 16 deserving wish children will be revealed.

“We couldn’t be more excited about our festive programming this year, and we’re inviting our guests and the community to join in the fun of this memorable day of free activities,” said Edwin Frizzell, regional vice president and general manager, Fairmont Royal York.

“We take pride that many save a special place in their heart to celebrate their traditions of the season with us – and we hope this year, with the launch of our Front Street holiday windows and the extra visits we’ve scheduled with Santa and the Candy Cane Carolers, it will be a year the community will not miss, and one they’ll never forget!”
