Cantech Investment Conference

What: For one day this week, you can witness Canada’s rapidly growing tech space at the fifth annual Cantech Investment Conference in Toronto. The one-day conference is the biggest of its kind in Canada and it’s set to showcase more than 110 public and private tech companies and startups, while highlighting the hottest trends in the industry.

When: January 31, 8 am to 6 pm

La Poutine Week Toronto

What: La Poutine Week kicks off in Toronto this will give diners the chance to try the ultimate poutines at select restaurants in the city. The dining public will have a chance to eat and vote on their favourites before a winner is announced at the end of the week.

Flashback Film Festival

What: You finally have a chance to watch all your favourite cult-classic films on the big screen. Cineplex is hosting the Flashback Film Festival at select theatres across Canada, where attendees will be able to sit back with some movie theatre popcorn and enjoy their favourite flicks from the ’80s and ’90s. The lineup includes Back to the Future, Gremlins, Hot Fuzz, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Big Lebowski, and more.

DJ Skate Nights Soca on Ice

What: If you’re looking for fun way to spend your Saturday nights this winter, you’re going to want to hit up the Harbourfront Centre’s DJ Skate Nights. This Saturday, Dr. Jay de Soca Prince will be serving up soca rink-side for the hottest winter party in town.

There will be, of course, plenty of opportunities to shop, as there will be teas, teawares, and related products for sale.
