AGO First Thursdays

Are you after an IRL Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Franweiler experience? AGO First Thursdays is a monthly party that takes place at – you guessed it – the AGO. April’s bash is a celebration of the start of spring, which is something we can all get behind. Party after-hours in front of one of Canada’s best art collections, listen to live music, and enjoy a cocktail or two. Tickets are $16 for non-members and $14 for members.

TIFF Kids International Film Festival

Do you know a film lover aged 3 to 13? Now celebrating its 20th anniversary, The TIFF Kids International Film Festival is an event that is sure to delight tiny cinephiles. This year’s event features 160 films from over 40 countries, as well as a variety of hands on programming designed to bring out the creative side in your kiddo. Tickets are $10 each for kids and $14 for grownups.

Y2K: The Millennial Dance Party: Robot Rock

Are you nostalgic for a simpler time? A time when MSN Messenger was the best way to communicate with your high school crush and you only watched shows produced by The WB? Well, now’s your chance to party like it’s 2001 all over again! This is a dance party that promises to bring you the top hits of the early 2000s, complete with songs from Daft Punk, Snoop Dogg, Nelly, and Kylie Minogue. Get out your boot cut jeans and your best glitter eye shadow, because this event promises to be way, way cool! Tickets will set you back $10 each.

Toronto Pancakes and Booze Art Show

Do you love pancakes? Do you love booze? Do you love art? Are you looking for a way to explore all three of these things simultaneously? If so, an event celebrating the intersection of pancakes, booze and art taking place in Toronto this week is where you’ll want to be. There will be body panting, a live DJ, and work by over a hundred emerging artists. Tickets are $13 in advance or $10 cash at the door.

WWF-Canada CN Tower Climb

Want to get in some cardio while raising money for a good cause? The WWF’s annual stair climb raises money to help save endangered animals – and protect their habitats – one high octane step at a time. Find yourself some sponsors and trek up to the peak of Toronto’s own urban mountain.
