Watch time-lapse of Toronto Eaton Centre bridge being lifted into place (VIDEO)

The new pedestrian bridge connecting the Toronto Eaton Centre to the Hudson Bay was installed last weekend and now, Cadillac Fairview has released an epic time lapse video showing exactly what was involved with constructing and hoisting the stunning new glass structure into place.

In a press release, the operation is described as one of “extreme precision and collaboration,” as the new bridge was “transported from its pre-assembly location on James Street using a self-propelled modular transport vehicle that lifted the bridge into place for installation on Queen Street West, allowing the property to focus on tie-in and final finishing…”

The footpath is set to open to the public this fall but from the outside, it has already transformed Queen Street.
