Lone coyote spotted crossing frozen Toronto harbour (VIDEO)

In today’s rendition of cool animal sightings in Toronto, a coyote was spotted crossing the frozen harbour.

In a video shared on Instagram by Tristan Hamburgh, as a Toronto ferry begins to approach the shore, a sleek coyote can be seen running across the icy harbour in the distance.

According to the City of Toronto, coyotes thrive in urban areas because of the abundance of food and shelter available. But unlike many mammals, coyotes don’t hibernate and are thus seen more often during the winter months.

Chances are this little guy trekked over from the Toronto islands, as coyotes are commonly spotted over there.

You have to admit, it’s quite a remarkable sight considering Toronto is one of the largest cities in North America.
