Auston Matthews has been an easy sell for hockey fans ever since being drafted first overall in the NHL Draft two years ago.

Scoring four goals in his NHL debut, the 2017 Calder Trophy winner signalled his arrival to the league right away. The Arizona native added another feather in his cap this season, as the NHL revealed that the Maple Leafs star had the top selling jersey in 2017-18.

Matthews overtook Sidney Crosby, who was the 2016-17 leader. Connor McDavid, who won his second-straight scoring title, finished third.

There were five newcomers to the list, in Marc-Andre Fleury, Mats Zuccarello, TJ Oshie, Jack Eichel, and Andrei Vasilevskiy.

Jersey sales were tabulated from the Fanatics network of ecommerce sites, including Shop.NHL.com, NHLShop.ca, and Fanatics.com, during the regular season.
