Whether you’re planning a Thanksgiving dinner and need a last minute item or you’re looking for something to do and you’re wondering what’s open and closed on holiday Monday, we’ve got you covered.

From grocery stores to tourist attractions, here’s what’s open and closed on Thanksgiving Monday in Toronto.



The TTC will operate on its holiday service with subway and most routes starting at 6 am. Any routes that do not normally operate on Sundays, will not operate on Thanksgiving. For those planning on using the TTC this weekend, it’s weekend day pass will also include holiday Monday.



Grocery Stores

While many grocery stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Monday, these grocery stores will be open:


LCBO & Beer Stores

  • All LCBO and Beer Stores will be closed on holiday Monday so make sure to stock up early!


  • Federal, provincial and municipal government offices
  • Banks, select malls and retail locations
  • No mail collection or delivery
  • Toronto Public Library branches
