Every road closure in Toronto this weekend: August 17 to 19
Like most of the summer so far, expect some road closures in Toronto this weekend.
Several events are taking place, resulting in closures throughout the city.
According to the City of Toronto, festivals and other special events are important to the city, injecting hundreds of millions of dollars annually into Toronto’s economy.
Here’s a breakdown of this weekend’s road closures:
Chinatown Festival
The southbound lanes of Spadina Avenue will be closed from St. Andrew Street to Sullivan Street from Saturday, August 18 at midnight to Sunday, August 19 at midnight. Dundas Street will be open during this time period.
Taste of Manila
Bathurst Street from Wilson Avenue to Laurelcrest Avenue will be closed in both directions from Saturday, August 18 at midnight to Sunday, August 19 at midnight.
Festival of South Asia
Gerrard Street East from Coxwell Avenue to Glenside Avenue will be closed on Saturday, August 18 from 8 am to Monday, August 20 at 2 am.
Wheels on the Danforth
Danforth Avenue will be closed from Byng Avenue to Leyton Avenue and from Warden Avenue to Leyton Avenue, and Danforth Road will be closed from Landry Avenue to Danforth Avenue on Saturday, August 18 from 7 am to midnight.
Open Streets TO
Bloor Street, from Montrose Avenue to Sherbourne Street, and Yonge Street, from Bloor Street to Queen Street, will be closed on Sunday, August 19 from 8:30 am to 3 pm.
Vehicles will be able to cross Bloor Street at Grace Street/Christie Street, Bathurst Street, Spadina Avenue, Avenue Road, Bay Street, Church Street, Ted Rogers Way and Sherbourne Street. Vehicles will be able to cross Yonge Street at Wellesley Street, College Street, Gerrard Street, Dundas Street, Shuter Street and Queen Street.
Panorama India Day Festival and Grand Parade
Two northbound lanes on University Avenue, from Queen Street West to Dundas Street, and Armoury Street from University Avenue to Chestnut Street will be closed on Sunday, August 19 from 12:01 am to 8 pm.
