Quebec mother arrested in Ottawa after allegedly abducting children

The Sûreté du Québec announced that the 42-year-old Quebec mother accused of abducting her three children, was arrested in Ottawa last night.

Yanna Mavraganis was wanted on an arrest warrant following the kidnapping of her three children in April in the Gatineau area of Quebec.

Quebec Police originally suspected she had fled to Ontario driving a blue Toyota Matrix.

Police had been searching women’s shelters in Ontario in order to locate Yanna and her kids.

Her three kids, Maximo Finley-Mavraganis, aged 8, Maya Finley-Mavraganis, also 8 and Marina Finley-Mavraganis, aged 5, are reportedly unharmed and safe.

Yanna Mavraganis appeared in court Thursday afternoon in Gatineau.
