Women entrepreneurs get education, mentoring and a chance to win $25,000 cash with this program

Women entrepreneurs often face an uphill battle when it comes to accessing capital for business.

That’s why the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs (FWE) has designed Pitch for the Purse.

Pitch for the Purse is a program that aims to educate and mentor women across Canada who want to elevate their businesses and need the money to do so. Whether you need $1 million or $150,000 to grow your business, this is the program that helps you craft your pitch to investors.

In fact, every single one of last year’s semi-finalists who sought capital were successful, raising more than $3.5 million because of the education and mentorship they received from this incredible program.

And this year, another round of applicants have the chance to compete.

Meet this year’s 10 semi-finalists:

The program is divided into four sections designed to educate and mentor every step of the way. It starts off with pitch training, which leads to the semi-finals (10 semi-finalists), mentorship, and lastly, a pitch finale (between three finalists).

Each finalist could be walking away with $25,000 CAD in cash to fund their business.

FWE is excited to bring the program back following an incredibly successful debut year and understands that women entrepreneurs are at a disadvantage compared to their male counterparts. The organization’s role is to provide the education and mentorship that these women need to take their businesses to the next level.

You can see the pitch action for yourself by attending the Semi-Finals at The Vancouver Club on November 30. Tickets are on sale now, costing $75 for general admission or $500 for a group of four (which includes company logo recognition). The 10 semi-finalists will receive one-to-one coaching in the weeks prior to taking the stage. On the day, they’ll each present their five-minute pitches live in front of a panel of three judges and an audience at the semi-finals breakfast. This year’s judges include Tracey McVicarJohn Montalbano, and Ali Pejman.
