A pedestrian who was hit by a GO Train in Scarborough has died.
According to police, a pedestrian was struck near Lawrence Avenue and Midland Avenue on Wednesday morning. Initial reports stated that the injuries were unknown.

But Metrolinx’ Anne Marie Aikins confirmed the fatality on Twitter.
“I’m very sad to report we now have a confirmed fatality on GO Transit near Rouge Hill. Our thoughts are with their loved ones who will be receiving this terrible news & our crew,” she wrote.
At this time, service has been suspended on GO Transit Lakeshore East line but Aikins said there will be a recovery plan in effect shortly.
