October is Bun Month at Momofuku Daisho

Great news for Toronto’s bao obsessed!

Momofuku’s second-floor restaurant┬áhas invited five Toronto chefs to collaborate on a steamed bun special, each available for one week only throughout the month of October.

Already on offer from now until October 9, is this falafel bao from Chef Anthony Rose of Fat Pasha. The Middle Eastern mash-up features deep fried chickpea balls dressed with green tahini, caraway and red cabbage.

We can’t wait to see what other creations are to come.

Look forward to a presumably Filipino riff from Daniel Cancino (Lamesa) available from October 10 to 16; a Latin take from Steve Gonzalez (Baro) served between October 17 and 23; a bao with an Italian inflection from Victor Barry (Piano Piano) offered from October 24 to 30; and, finally a closer from Ted Corrado (Drake One Fifty) featured on the menu from October 31 to November 6.
