New and incoming Toronto restaurants: Hooky’s, Monga Fried Chicken, Icha Tea

This weekly round-up spotlights new Toronto restaurants and bars plus incoming establishments that you should have on your radar.

Here are the newest places to eat in Toronto right now:

Just Opened

  • Icha Tea is now open at 235 Spadina Avenue in Chinatown. The new tea house serves HK milk tea, matcha bevies, and traditional tea drinks along with a selection of desserts.
  • Chippys is no more. The shop across from Trinity Bellwods Park at 893 Queen St. West has recently been rebranded as Hooky’s.
  • Surf The Greats a new surf shop and cafe is now open in Leslieville at 276 Carlaw Avenue.
  • The Rec Room, the massive new entertainment complex from Cineplex is now open at The Roundhouse at 255 Bremner Boulevard.

Opening Soon

  • Another location of b.good is going in at 75 Eglinton Avenue East, Unit 100.
  • Guschlbauer Toronto, the award-winning Austrian Bakery known for its signature cheese buns and cream puffs, is coming soon to 690 Yonge Street.
  • Famous Taiwanese fried chicken maker, Monga is taking over the former outpost of Kathi Roll Express at 692 Yonge Street.
  • Organic Garage is expanding. The grocery store opens its third location in The Junction on July 5 and already has a location in the works in Leaside at 33 Laird Drive as well as a just announced outpost planned for Liberty Village.
