Mochi doughnuts are coming to Toronto.

Starting this Saturday, August 11, Isabella’s Boutique Restaurant in The Beach(es) is expanding its offerings to include Japanese baked goods in addition to its already popular Japanese-style brunch menu.

According to the announcement posted to Facebook, the Queen East eatery is adding a menu of Japanese rolls and melon pans, curry breads, and most importantly, mochi doughnuts to its menu.

Inspired by the sweet treat popularized by Mister Donut in Japan (and increasingly imitated in the United States), these chewy, “pon-de-ring” do-natsu can be pulled apart into little doughnut balls. Look forward to the sweet treats glazed in flavours like sugar, matcha, or chocolate.
