Las Vegas band The Killers rocked the Air Canada Centre over the weekend.

The indie rockers are on their Wonderful Wonderful World Tour which stopped in Toronto on January 5. And while here, a local fan managed to capture their attention and end up playing on stage with the band.

While seated in the VIP section of the ACC, Brandon Mohan went to the show prepared with a sign that said “Can I drum for Reasons Unknown.” The Killers being his favourite band, Mohan said that they inspired him to play drums when he was 13.

“I was looking for the right moment to lift it up high for Brandon (Flowers) or Ronnie (Vannucci Jr.) to see. The second Brandon took the bass guitar from Jake and approached the lead mic I raised it and he looked down at it right away,” wrote Mohan in a reddit AMA. “He immediately looked at Ronnie who then signalled for me to come up.”

And Mohan was a natural on stage.

So much so that Ronnie gave him a shot of Jack, and let him keep the sticks after the song.

“Words cannot describe how I feel right now. Last night my favourite band The Killers pulled me on stage and let me play the drums with them for one of my favourite songs,” Mohan shared on social media. “These musicians inspired me to start playing drums when I was just 13, and here we are 12 years later making a dream come true. Thank you to The Killers for this unforgettable experience.”
