Imagine living in a giant historic building with plenty of rooms, high ceilings, and a backyard – that’s way more than any property offers in downtown Toronto or Vancouver right now.
And it’s all on the market for $99,000.
There’s just one catch. The building is a former jail and courthouse.
Located in Owen Sound, Ontario, the building was originally constructed in 1854, the property has a lot of its original characteristics.
The deteriorating heritage-designated building was previously listed on the market, but the sale fell through, and the town’s council decided to place it back on the market in August, according to local reports.
The property, at 1525 and 1535 3rd Ave. E., is being relisted for a couple more months while Owen Sound city staff get estimates on the cost to demolish parts of the site.
So if you’re in the market for a massive place with some historic significance, that is
definitely probably not haunted, this is a steal at under $100,000.
Think of all the money you’ll save for future Avo Toast breakfasts in your new yard.
