Ice cream trucks in Toronto have officially gone to the dogs.

Rolling into town for one-day only next week is a food truck that deals in treats for humans AND their four-legged best friends. The ice cream truck from PetSmart will be making the rounds and hosting free ice cream socials at parks in Toronto on Wednesday, July 12.

On the truck menu: dog-safe, vanilla, non-dairy ice cream (since dairy isn’t always dogs’ best friend).

The promotion is being offered in advance of National Ice Cream Day on July 16 when the PetSmart outlet in The Beach and PetsHotel locations in the GTA will also serve up doggie sundaes decorated with dog biscuit sprinkles.

The ice cream truck for pups will be making stops on June 12 from noon to 4 pm at Berczy Park, and then from 4:30 pm to 8 pm at Woodbine Park.

Fear not if you miss the truck, G for Gelato and Lick It Gelato both offer frozen doggy treats on their summertime menus.
