Every time we try to catch up on the news, negative stories constantly seem to dominate the headlines. There’s a reason why we say some things “restore our faith in humanity” – it’s because we rarely get exposed to the wealth of good things happening around us everyday.

1. ‘Seeing eye’ camel serves as guide for zoo’s blind horse
Dolly the blind horse and Caesar the camel are best friends. They both live at the Pony X-Press, a travelling petting zoo in the US. To help Dolly get around, Caesar acts as her ‘seeing eye’ camel and guides her around to make sure she does not get hurt. Now that’s a real friendship.

2. Dog makes the funniest faces at inanimate objects
When Ruby the dog sees inanimate objects, she happens to make the funniest faces. Trust us, her expressions will make your day.

Jia Panpan and Jia Yueyue, the Toronto Zoo’s two giant panda cubs, had a blast playing in snow and it was all caught on camera. If this video doesn’t warm your warm, dead, heart we don’t know what will.

4. Pig wears adorable hat when she goes out in the snow
This pig is not going to risk getting cold. Esther the Wonder Pig is 650 pounds and even though she is humungous, she still likes to keep warm during the winter months by wearing some cozy clothing.

5. Toronto Blue Jay spends birthday helping those in need
Toronto Blue Jays player Dalton Pompey did not spend his 24th birthday at the club. Instead, he decided to help those in need by handing out Tim Horton’s gift cards at Toronto’s Younge-Dundas to those less fortunate.
Pompey said the following in an Instagram post: “I have a lot to be thankful for in my life and there’s no better way for me to thank God for blessing me than trying to make someone else’s day. There’s no better gift than the gift of kindness!”

6. Students overjoyed when fellow classmate gets accepted into Cornell University
Students at a Lousiana prep school were waiting to see if their fellow classmate got accepted into Cornell University and their reaction to his acceptance was priceless.

7. Dog says goodbye to owner in bittersweet video
This story is truly bittersweet. Ryan Jessen, 33, of California suffered from a ventricular brain hemorrhage and doctors could not save him. His family brought his dog Mollie to say one last goodbye shortly before his death. The heartbreaking moment was caught on camera.
Ryan met Mollie six years ago. She was a stray dog but he took her in and they built an inseparable bond. Mollie got to say her final goodbyes before her best friend passed away.

8. Firefighters rescue struggling moose trapped in frozen river
Firefighters in Shediac, New Brunswick got an unusual call this week when they were asked to save a moose trapped in a frozen river. Thankfully, the firefighters were able to safely remove the animal and it was not injured.

Nine-year-old Hailey Rodenhiser of Dayspring, Nova Scotia is going through cancer treatments and has been having a rough couple of months. Hailey really likes getting mail, especially around Christmas time. So, to cheer Hailey up, her mother asked friends and family on Facebook to send cards to her. People immediately began responding and Hailey has since received cards from all over North America.
