Major delays on GO Transit this morning after person struck by train
Those commuting from Barrie will experience much longer wait times this morning after a person was struck by a GO train, possibly resulting in a fatality.
The incident occurred earlier this morning, south of the Barrie South GO Station just before 6:30 am.

Early morning commuters grew frustrated this morning when their scheduled trains didn’t arrive, and Metrolinx has said it could take an estimated two hours before service resumes.

Those trying to make it into the city are encouraged to take the Richmond Hill train to get into Toronto. Passengers can also utilize the TTC at York Mills, Yorkdale and Sheppard West and Finch.

While no details of the person struck have been released, Barrie GO Transit officials confirmed that the incendent could potentially be fatal.
