The giant rubber duck that visited Toronto has become a huge meme
He came, he floated, he left. Luckily, the internet never forgets.
And thanks to a recent tweet that’s been shared all over the internet, the giant rubber duck that visited Toronto over Canada Day weekend has become a meme.
Twitter user @ViCXT0RiA shared the below tweet over the weekend and it has since been retweeted more than 11k times and liked nearly 45k times.

But when someone added the line ‘he’s doing his fucking best okay’ above that tweet, that’s when things really took off.
The tweet is currently the #1 post on r/Canada with over a 1000 comments. It has been shared on @bitch, an Instagram account with nearly 1M followers, as well as @savagememesss, another account with nearly half a million followers.
But it’s Instagram mega-star @fuckjerry that put the giant rubber duck meme over the top, sharing the tweet and image out yesterday on his account that has some 12.4M followers:
Somewhat ironically, while the attention is giving a hilarious shoutout to Canada, the picture of the duck used on the @fuckjerry account is not from Toronto at all.
Fair or fowl, people have a lot of feelings about the giant rubber duck. Considering, however, that more than 750,000 people came out to see it in Toronto, we’re pretty sure it will just keep floating on no matter what anyone has to say.
