Environment Canada issues freezing rain advisory for Toronto

Tomorrow is bound to be messy in Toronto.

While last week’s prediction of 25 cms of snow no longer appears to be coming true, it still looking like a brutal commute is waiting for you tomorrow.

On Monday, Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for the City of Toronto warning of “a period of freezing rain” for Tuesday, February 7.

The statement issued says there’s also a chance of snow.

According to Environment Canada:

A low pressure area will bring a significant precipitation event to Southern Ontario Tuesday. There is a chance of snow and freezing rain overnight. Freezing rain will begin Tuesday morning and last for several hours before changing to rain in the afternoon.

Hazardous winter travelling conditions can be expected across Southern Ontario.

While temperatures will go up to around 4 degrees, the low will dip closer to freezing point.
