You can fly from Toronto to Costa Rica for just over $300 return this June

So it’s winter, and it’s cold.

And to top it off, we’re dealing with freezing rain.

It’s time to plan your next getaway, and thanks to YYZdeals, that destination might just be Liberia, Costa Rica.

The travel hub of Costa Rica, Liberia is a tourism destination due to its convenient location. Sitting Northwest of the capital, San Jose, Liberia is usually a starting point for travellers heading west to the Pacific Ocean, or heading east towards the country’s mountains and rainforests.

Home to the outspoken howler monkeys, Liberia is a historic city that still has homes made from mud and palm trees.

It’s also the furthest you’ll be from any potential freezing rain.

And currently, Skyscanner is showing Westjet flights to Liberia for as low as $337 return, for a week in June. The departure dates are May 26 or June 2, with a return date of June 9. Some flights through Westjet itself are also available earlier in May, with a return cost of $407. Still not bad.
