Get ready to shop ethical and eat ube.

A Filipino holiday market is popping up in Toronto on December 1 and 2, bringing along artisanal clothing and brightly-coloured sweets.

You’ll have the opportunity to shop for ethical gifts by Cambio & Co. The company’s curated collection of conscious Filipino brands, which are all designed and handcrafted in the Philippines, will be available for purchase.

Talk about the perfect holiday presents.

And to give you more energy for your gift-hunting, you’ll find sweet treats crafted by Filipino Fusion Desserts. Based in the GTA, this catering company makes desserts that include a combination of traditional Filipino and Western flavours, with a modern twist.

Crinkle cookies bring a smile to everyone’s face, but the vibrant colour of these ones take them over the top. Ube, a Filipino dessert made with purple yam, is what packs this purple punch.

Mark your calendar and head down to College Street the first weekend of December — this ethical event is one you won’t want to miss.
