Yesterday was the 5th rainiest May day in Toronto's history

May 26 2017, 9:58 pm

Top 5 rainiest days is not exactly a record we’re striving for. But it does show just how wet Toronto got yesterday.

In fact, according to Environment Canada meteorologist Peter Kimbell, the 44.6 mm Pearson Airport received yesterday (downtown Toronto actually got hit with 52 mm) is good enough for the 5th highest total of any day in all of May since they started keeping track back in 1938.

Some quick math and you’ll release just how special the top 5 really is. That means more rain feel yesterday than 2,439 other days in May Toronto has seen over the past 79 years.

Not that we didn’t notice.

Here’s to hoping summer, and all its sunshine, shows up soon.
