Party planning in Toronto need not be an event in itself!
This new start-up wants to turn your most ambitious party-themed Pinterest boards into a reality without the hours of calling around, negotiating fees, and booking individual vendors.
Geared towards amateurs, professionals, and those just generally not in tune with their inner Martha Stewart, Toronto-based Eventspot has aggregated hundreds of event planning services including venues, decorators, caterers, and entertainers onto a single online platform.
Users need only to select the date of their function and can then search vendors, products, and services which can all be booked and billed online.
Toronto-based founder Billy Shawn launched Eventspot with the aim of streamlining the whole event planning process, as well as ensuring fair and consistent pricing (i.e. you won’t pay wedding day premiums).
“The standard planning and booking process for events is ridiculously time-consuming and stressful. Multiple vendor searches, endless attempts at coordinating availability dates, requesting quotes and negotiating prices for every possible option, and then a litany of other vetting steps before payment. Even after this tedious process, the consumer may not always feel confident that they’ve booked the right vendor or paid the fair price for their special occasion,” says Shawn in a press release.
Already available for booking, find a roster of well-established and reputable local vendors including Daniel et Daniel, DaiLo, and Fidel Gastro’s (to name just a few) plus plenty of lesser-known and unique offerings ranging from artisanal ice cream trucks to live entertainers.
Of course, you’ll still be responsible for the nightmare that is the guest list… unless of course there’s another start-up out there that can to explain to your second-cousin, twice removed why they’re not invited.
