It’s officially the last day of summer (CRY EMOJI), and with it, Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Toronto.
Just like yesterday’s warning, today’s statement advises of strong winds in the city this afternoon.
“Strong southwesterly wind gusts of 70 to 80 km/h are expected to develop this afternoon and early this evening, with higher wind gusts likely in thunderstorms,” reads the statement from Environment Canada. “These strong winds are associated with a cold front that will track over the area late this afternoon and early this evening.”
Additionally, the weather agency said that northwest winds gusting to 60 or 70 km/h are also expected this evening after the cold front passes.
The winds will then diminish overnight.
According to the Weather Network, while it is 23°C in Toronto this morning, it already feels like 31°C.
Expect that high to feel like 39°C later this afternoon, in what may be the last day of heat and humidity this year.
