How to design a cozy Netflix nook you’ll never want to leave (and that’s okay)

So the holidays are over and if you are anything like us you’re ready for some serious down time.

And by down time we mean cozying up and settling into our own cocoon.

Which is why we’ve put together some suggestions to help you create that perfect little Netflix nook that we just know you’re craving… to never leave.

Start with the basics

Invest in a blissfully comfy sofa or sectional. An inviting sofa is an absolute essential, like your favourite pair of sweats! This one from Camerich is even called ‘Lazy Time’ and is available in a large and small size to suit small space living. Available through Industrial Revolution.

So a sectional doesn’t quite fit in your Netflix Nook? Luckily, recliners these days don’t look like the overstuffed monsters found in ’80s basements everywhere. Check out Stressless for a beautiful selection of refined, comfy recliners. With a name like Stressless who can resist? Bring on less stress and let’s Netflix and chill.

The modern look of a recliner or sectional not quite right? We’ve got you covered.

Try a deep and super comfy daybed. This one from Fourhands is our pick! (Keep in mind, daybeds also come in tons of modern styles, be prepared to never want to leave!) Country Furniture and Suquet Interiors both carry the Four Hands line.

Add a foundation

Want an extra cozy nook? Make sure to ground the space with a fabulous rug that is inviting enough to sprawl out on. Sheepskin rugs are natural, beautiful and as cozy as it gets! As an added bonus they suit a variety of aesthetics. Check out Sheepskin Stuff.

Sheepskin too natural for you? Try a plush rug and add some colour! Look to Anthropologie for some great options.

It’s all about layers

Your chill space needs to support you by making sure that you stay warm and comfortable. Add pillows that can offer extra coziness and multiple options to prop yourself up when one side gets numb from too much sofa time! Seriously though, the softest, most welcoming and beautiful toss cushions are from Teixidors. They come in a variety of colours and suit any space. Get them today at Provide Home.

Other great options for toss cushions are West Elm and CB2 , they have ever-changing patterns and designs to suit your personality.

It wouldn’t be a Netflix nook without a cozy blanket (or a few)!

A good nook needs a collection of soft, welcoming blankets. It would also be helpful if they are in a variety of thicknesses so you can be act like a modern-day Goldilocks when choosing your perfect level of warmth. Get ready for that marathon of Stranger Things or The Crown – you can handle it because you’ve come prepared! Have a look at Natural Wool Knits , Rug and Weave and Simons, for some great options.

Sometimes your coffee table is just too far away

Buy a perfect tray, something that can sit on top of the sofa next to you or between you and your trusty sofa mate. A great tray will allow you to set up your favourite goodies all within arm’s reach. Or better yet, it can act as a TV tray. Snuggle up and eat dinner in the warm glowing light of your favourite show!

Be cozy

Oh and also, don’t forget you will probably need some awesome Canadian-made slippers to add to all that coziness. With the perfect Netflix nook in place, there’s no reason why you can’t look the part, too!
