Child dies after being left in hot car in Etobicoke today

Toronto Police have confirmed that a young child under the age of 5 has died after being left in a hot car earlier today at Burnhamthorpe and Mill Roads in Etobicoke, near the Mississauga border.

Toronto police, firefighters and paramedics arrived after 2 pm and the child was taken to hospital where it was pronounced dead.

Const. David Hopkinson told The Star “We don’t know what happened here yet.” But Police have confirmed that they have one person in custody and that the investigation is on-going.
