Céline Dion’s famous residency in Las Vegas is coming to an end.

The 50-year-old musician announced today that more than 15 years after the premiere of her first permanent Las Vegas show, her second production Celine at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, will come to an end on June 8, 2019.

Dion performs over 70 shows a year, earns $500,000 per event and performs to 200,000 total spectators yearly. Dion’s 427 shows of Celine has made the Quebec-native singer the most profitable act in Las Vegas since Elvis Presley.

She first performed Celine on March 15, 2011, and had performed her first residency A New Day… from 2003 to 2007 at the same venue.

“I definitely have mixed emotions about this final run. Las Vegas has become my home and performing at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace has been a big part of my life for the past two decades,” says Dion on her website. “It’s been an amazing experience and I’m so grateful to all the fans who have come to see us throughout the years. Every show we do at the Colosseum throughout this fall, and right up until the final one, will feel very special.”

Dion recently took to Instagram to announce that she’s back in the studio recording new music.

“Back in the studio… excited about recording some great new tunes,” she wrote in the caption.

Releasing a new album could be a major factor in Dion’s decision to leave Las Vegas.
