Just hours ago, Alert Ready, the new National Public Alerting System was set to perform an emergency alert test to mobile devices across Canada.
The tests targeted mobile devices connected to an LTE network, as well as TV and radio stations across nine provinces and one territory. Today’s earlier tests followed a failed run that targeted Quebec and Ontario.
Unfortunately, tests across the west coast were less than successful and Canadians were quick to take it to Twitter.
Well that #emergencyalert was a whole pile of nothing in our office. A total of 2 phones out of 12 received the alert.

Didn’t get the #emergencyalert on my phone today. Guess it’s the governments way of telling me I’ve been chosen to die in the upcoming apocalypse 🙄 #thatsthewayshegoesboys

if your #emergencyalert test came up as a “presidential alert”, that means you’ll now receive all of Donald Trump’s tweets as he posts them in real time.
Actually no, it’s just using a U.S. profile of the exact same system. But still, #ObligatoryTrumpJoke

#BritishColumbia is testing its new #EmergencyPreparedness #emergencyalert system today. We saw it via @Shawhelp during Star Trek Voyager but nothing on our @telus phones. I did get #spam calls on my mobile about that time, sigh. https://t.co/xJF9sBZ0NG

At this current time, there have been no notifications from the CRTC or any major mobile companies regarding the missed alerts.
