Canadians react to receiving (and not receiving) emergency alerts

May 10 2018, 4:59 am

Just hours ago, Alert Ready, the new National Public Alerting System was set to perform an emergency alert test to mobile devices across Canada.

The tests targeted mobile devices connected to an LTE network, as well as TV and radio stations across nine provinces and one territory. Today’s earlier tests followed a failed run that targeted Quebec and Ontario.

Unfortunately, tests across the west coast were less than successful and Canadians were quick to take it to Twitter.

At this current time, there have been no notifications from the CRTC or any major mobile companies regarding the missed alerts.
