Many Christmas traditions are well-known and have been enjoyed by families for years. One of these traditions includes the Elf on the Shelf.

For those of you who are not in the know: the Elf on the Shelf is a holiday tradition in which parents must hide an elf doll around the house in unexpected places leading up to Christmas. Children are then encouraged to find the elf — but not to touch because the elf is there to keep track of them and report their behaviour back to Santa.

And now a Canadian woman has taken the holiday tradition even further by dressing up like an elf and taking photos of herself getting into all kinds of mischievous situations.

Sheri Gillam, of Bonavista, Newfoundland, has quickly become the Christmas hero we didn’t know we needed thanks to her amusing photos.

Easily two of the funniest photos she shared on Facebook feature her hiding in a freezer in a grocery store eating a tub of ice cream or when she posed in a bathtub filled with marshmallows while drinking a container of syrup.

Gillam has posted a new photo on her Facebook page each day this month and so far the results are nothing short of amazing.
