This Toronto restaurant is a finalist for Canada's Best Restroom
One of Toronto’s most Insta-worthy Italian restaurants just made the shortlist for a Canada-wide contest and it has nothing to do with their cuisine.

If you haven’t heard of it before you’re not alone, but this list aims to shine a spotlight on washrooms across the country that have that certain je ne sais quoi.
Finalists this year include St. Albert Honda in St. Albert, Alberta, the Saskatchewan Science Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan, Erin Mills Town Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, and the only other restaurant on the list, Anh and Chi in Vancouver, BC.
Oretta’s facilities got a shout out for their art-deco-inspired zig-zag patterned walls and floors along with their private washrooms that alternate in colour, from white and gold to black and gold.
“Each facility features sleek marble tiled walls, modern fixtures and a globe light. The oval mirror, bright lighting and dĂ©cor make these washrooms the perfect space for Instagram enthusiasts to snap an artistic after-dinner selfie,” read the announcement.
Who knew bathrooms could be so inspiring?
“From restaurants to education centres to malls and even car dealerships, this year’s finalists showcase the best of the best in washroom décor, cleanliness and function,” said Candice Raynsford, Marketing Manager, Cintas Canada Ltd. “Our contest celebrates businesses that go the extra mile to improve customer satisfaction by maintaining clean, innovative facilities. We’re excited to find out which washroom will win the public’s heart and be crowned this year’s winner!”
Criteria include cleanliness, design, and uniqueness, and the public is invited to vote for their favourite washroom online now through Aug. 17.
