A group of artists is working on a special project that will bring Toronto it’s very own version of Noah’s Ark —but with a party twist.

According to the group’s fundraising page on Indiegogo, the group is currently creating The Ark Car —an “interactive and mobile community art project that can act as both a stationary or roving art piece.”

The ark is being built on a GMC 2001 3500 flatbed truck, making it self-contained and modular.

According to the Art Car’s creators, when complete, it will feature a “10,000 watt sound a dance platform that can hold over 50 humans or animals, 100 independently programmed Nanoleaf panels projecting waves of light around the Ark, a ‘plounge,’ and a pizza kitchen!”

So basically, it’s a giant party ark.

After it’s completed, the goal is to take The Ark Car out to different festivals so everyone can enjoy the party.

Currently, The Ark Car is raising money to add the final touches on the project. The vehicle still needs to add these very important features:

  • 10,000 watts of bone-shaking booty boppin’ bass
  • 100 independently-controlled and programmable Nanoleaf LED lighting panels
  • Materials for ‘the hut’ and deck shade covering
  • Fog machines for ground FX
  • Unicorn ship figurehead
  • A ship’s wheel
  • Fuel expenses for attending festivals and events in Canada and North America

“Our Ark sails towards fulfilling a similar ideal – a lifeship that nourishes creativity and propels our community forward. As part of Toronto’s growing Art Car community, we envision the Ark as a platform for artistic expression and we’ve poured our blood, sweat, and tears into this vessel to make it happen,” said The Ark Car creators on Indigogo.

“Now it’s up to you to help us carry our vision forward into the future.”
