There’s lots to look forward to in the new year ahead! Parks Canada, for one, is making admission to all its national parks, historic sites, and marine conservation areas free for youth under 17 starting on January 1, 2018.

While the entrance fee will be waived atParks Canada attractions, regular fees will still apply for experiences and services including camping and accommodations, excursion permits, backcountry camping, Canadian Rockies Hot Springs, lockage, mooring, reservation fees, guided tours and hikes, and firewood.

Unlike the free Discovery Passes offered in 2017 in celebration if Canada’s sesquicentennial, the 2018 season will (aside from youth) see admission fees for adults and seniors return to the same rates as they were in 2016.

Family/Group Discovery Passes ordered before the new year (by December 31, 2017) can save 20% off of unlimited admission at more than 80 Parks Canada destinations.
