As you might imagine, July 11 is a day of big significance for 7-Eleven Canada, and to celebrate, the national chain of convenience stores is giving away FREE Slurpees! No gimmicks or crazy hair required.

The company considers ‘7-Eleven Day’ its birthday and invites Canadians to celebrate the unofficial annual holiday by giving away 900,000 free small birthday-sized Slurpese in a special 7-Eleven Day Cup featuring photos of Slurpee fans.

According to a press release, “Slurpee drinks were first poured in Calgary in 1969,” and have since become a Canada-wide favourite. Manitoba has apparently held the honour of Slurpee Capital of the World for 19 years in a row now and the City of Winnipeg even boasts a street with the honourary name ‘Slurpee Way.’

The promo will see 590 Canadian stores each giveaway 1,500 Slurpees on July 11, 2018. Among the many cold, sugary flavours on offer, customers can try new summer offerings including Maynards Sour Patch Kids watermelon, Dole Raspberry Lemon, and Crush Gummie Bear Slurpee.

“It may be our birthday, but we are giving back to our fans who support us every step of the way,” said Doug Rosencrans, Vice President and General Manager of 7-Eleven Canada.
