It’s already mid-December!

And apparently, the weather has taken notice. As the temperature continues to dip below feezing, and we continue getting cold weather alerts, check out these indoor (and festive) activities to make the most of a cold Thursday.

Filmmaker Noura Kevorkian paints a deeply moving and beautiful portrait of her father in this gorgeous travelogue. Now suffering from late-stage Parkinson’s disease, Noura’s father’s silent exterior conceals a brilliant and vivid inner life filled with dreams about physics and the cosmos. Director Noura Kevorkian and Sandie Jones from Parkinson Canada will be in attendance for a post-screening Q&A.

Jazz Cartier

One of our fave local rappers is home after a fall tour with Post Malone. Jazz Cartier released Marauding in Paradise last year, and followed it up with the highly successful Hotel Paranoia this year. Cartier’s high energy is one reason to see him live, but his tracks, like “Waste” and “Stick & Move,” are another.

A Dwayne Gretzky Christmas

The Dwayne, a super band loosely named after a hockey legend, are decking the Great Hall(s) this Holiday season with a special Festive show. The gig will be supporting a great cause, $5 from every ticket sold will be going to Sistering.
